Tips To Improve Attentional Focus
Attentional focus is the total time you can focus on a specific task sans getting distracted. Most psychologists and educators believe this focusing ability is crucial for achieving one’s life goals. It is no surprise people’s attention spans have been on the decline over the years, which leads us to the following tips:
• Exercising – physical exercises help enhance focus and attention, as the activity results in memory and learning-related brain chemicals getting activated.
• Increase fluid intake – mild dehydration is often too minimal to make one feel thirsty. This leads to inattention. The recommended daily fluid dosage (water and fresh juices) is 9 cups and 12.5 cups for women and men, respectively.
• Eliminate obvious distractions – the advanced technologies and the increasing avenues that help stay connected have, in fact, paved way for the growing lack of focus and inattention. In other words, curb the feeling to check emails, texts, chat messages, social media sites, etc. when at a task.
