PCB Manufacturing Process Used By PCB Fabrication Companies
PCB fabrication companies use advanced technologies to make high quality PCBs. They ensure high precision in the copper etchings. PCBs must be made at a fabrication center equipped with the best PCB making facilities. Manufacturing printed circuit boards is a complex and multistep process.
An epoxy glass sheet coated with copper foil is selected to make a traditional PCB. The top of the copper clad laminate is cleaned thoroughly to remove dirt and grease. Controlled pressure and heat is applied to fix a UV dry film to the top of this surface. The artwork is imaged onto this dry film using UV light exposure. It leaves a positive image and the dry film polymerizes and hardens. Now its unexposed areas are dissolved. The unprotected copper parts are dissolved chemically. Once the hardened dry film has been removed, it leaves behind the required copper pattern. Optical and x-ray inspections are performed to check for defects.
