Characteristics Of A Reed Knife
The cost of a good reed knife is limited and suitable for all budgets without giving up on the quality of the components. It is magnetic and holds every knife placed on it. Some users, however, report the fragility of its structure, which unscrew easily by dropping all the pieces.
The blades of the knives are ceramic. We all, by habit and practicality, say pottery, but in reality the knives of this type are zirconia (zirconium oxide), an extremely hard material, harder than steel and even hardened steel; it is almost as hard as diamond.
This is a material that never rusts and keeps sharpening for years. Furthermore, it does not transfer any flavor to foods that do not oxidize, not even because there is no rubbing of metals. Easy to clean but it should not be put in the dishwasher.
