Backing Up SharePoint Documents
Backing up SharePoint documents is easy because the platform integrates with regular office applications. These documents all use open-source XML file format standards, and they also write metadata in a manner that’s published and well understood. As a result, you can easily save a file locally that you have saved on a SharePoint cloud server without ever having to change the app you’re using.
Once you have a document saved locally, you can make an unlimited number of duplicates of it. You can move it onto a memory card or a USB stick as well, which means you’ll be able to hold onto it just in case anything happens to the network server you’re working from. Mobile devices that have built-in memory can also store these documents as long as they have an app installed that supports the SharePoint standard.
