The best way to perfect or at least improve your trumpet playing skills is to practice. Endeavour to practice every day for about 30 minutes to one hour. However, if you don’t have the stamina, then 15 minutes is still a good start. Remember, there is no need to move too quickly or to try to learn everything at once. Becoming a great trumpet player will obviously take some time.
After you have practiced enough to the level that you can commit your scales to memory, you can continue practicing at varying intervals and experimenting with producing different sounds. Try working with one scale until playing it feels natural.
Once you are comfortable playing one scale, you are free to experiment with other scales as well. You may even want to start practicing and learning one of the many simple but short songs (available in most trumpet books) to perfect your skills.
